About Me

My name is Brenda Bowers, and I've been teaching piano for almost 50 years - yes, I really did start when I was 12!  I started teaching my baby brother, then the neighborhood kids, then our church community, and it just grew from there.  I love music and piano, and I love sharing with students how fun music and playing the piano can be, even more! I studied music education at DePauw University and decided I enjoy teaching in a smaller setting rather than large classroom. So today I teach both small group and private lessons in my home!

As a member of Omaha Music Teacher's Association, many of my students participate in local competitions and events each year. I offer group classes (4 students in a group) for beginner and elementary students, ages 4 - 104!

My other interests include anything my kids are involved in, serving in my church, weight lifting, biking, and traveling to new places (preferably with a warm, sandy beach!)

I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor, and am becoming involved in the excellent local organization, Project Pink'd.

Please check out my mission statement on this website, as well as what I offer.  If you are interested in lessons for you or your student, I would love to meet you and talk with you about lessons at my studio!  You can fill out the Contact Form on this site, and I will get back to you within just a few days.

I look forward to meeting you!
